Another BIG week for DSD last week

Another BIG week for DSD.

We are announced as Ireland's biggest athletics club with over 1100 members.

The board delegation met with a new communications supplier as part of our search for the best tools to keep members' data safe.

A new juvenile coaches committee was formed with David Taylor as chair, to share ideas on best practise.

Declan Ryan signed off on design for the new sports hall with DLR hoping to start construction in January.

We held an onsite meeting to solve the floor design for the Stableyard.

But mostly, we had the marathon on Sunday with over 70 DSD'ers pulling on the famous silver vest.  With over 40 volunteers at the Dartry drunk station it was raucous.  And...we had our singlets on the podium not just once but several times with Hiko and Grace in great form. Hiko won the men's championship with an Irish record and Grace came third in the women's championship with a massive PB. To add to this we had three teams back on the podium to take 3rd place in the men's , women's and women's (O50) .

We welcome Minister for Sport Catherine Martin for a visit to the campus Saturday.

And...one of our most exciting juveniles, Conn McCluskey, came second in the all Ireland schools combined events title Saturday.

Phew

Ger McGrath, DSD Chairman
