We would like to congratulate all of our Juvenile athletes who have participated in the individual events held over Day 1, Day 2 & Day 3 of the Dublin Championships – for some it was their first Competition while others are well seasoned competitors in the Indoors!
We will be confirming Nationals Qualifiers along with availability to compete at the National Juvenile Indoor Championships in Athlone shortly – so please keep a look out for the email!
Attention now turns to the Indoor Relay Championships for U10 – U19 Age Groups on Day 4 with additional Mixed Relays for U17 & U19 athletes following the Spraoi Games on Day 5. Coaches have been communicating with their groups to find out which athletes are interested and available to compete in the Relays and are busy organising Teams for the event.
Sincere thank you also to the parents who put their names forward to volunteer over the first 3 days of competition – the coordination was made so much easier by not having to look for more volunteers to cover our requisite duties – particularly when we are also busy managing athlete entries and deadlines as well. We hope you will be as generous with Day 4!
The Provisional timetable for Day 4 is available with Even Age Relays in the morning and Uneven Age Relays in the afternoon – this is based on entries from last year.
Relays
Athletes may compete in TWO relays over the weekend
i.e. an U16 can compete in his/her own age group AND either the U17 Male or Female Relay OR U17 Mixed Relay
similarly an U18 can compete in his/her own age group AND either the U19 Male or Female Relay OR U19 Mixed Relay
Athletes may step up an Age Group
For all U12-U17 Relays at least 2 members of a competing relay team, participating in each round of that event on the day must be of the correct age group
U17 and U18 age groups, all athletes may move up an age group, however only 2 U16 athletes may compete on an U17 team
Mixed Relays are composed of 2 girls and 2 boys – with a running order of Boy – Girl – Boy – Girl.
National Qualification
Relays – 3 Teams in each Age Group qualify for Nationals.

Volunteer Officials – (NO experience required!)
As with all events, it is a condition of the Dublin Athletics Board Juvenile Competition Committee that all Clubs provide officials in order to ensure their athletes are permitted to compete.
To ensure our coaches can prepare and assist their athletes we look to parents to help when required and aim to schedule volunteers on a rota basis throughout the day to share the load.
There are a number of parents who step up regularly, for which we are most appreciative, however we would like to invite those that have not volunteered before to also come forward. Please let us know when you are available - there is no prior experience required – it is a great way to learn more and give back to the athletics community.
We are required to submit Volunteer names in advance of each competition day. For this reason, we ask that you please confirm your availability when submitting your entry. This also allows us to arrange a rota for the day ahead of time.
Relays are currently being organised!
Coaches have sent ClubForce (CF) messages seeking interest for relays and are currently working to finalise teams – if you have not received a message and your athlete is interested – please make contact ASAP (dsdjuventries@gmail.com).
If you have NOT already submitted your athlete’s name to their coach and would like to be considered for a relay please send on details ASAP.
Please submit any entries to the following dedicated Juvenile Competitions Entry email ONLY.
And please remember to include ALL of the following information – including the volunteer question.
Athlete Name
Date of Birth
Gender
Volunteer: Yes / No (If no, please confirm if you’re available to assist on another competition day during the Championships)
Please also let us know if you are available to volunteer on the day ASAP
