U9/U10/U11 Dublin Team & Relay Championships on 27th May at Tallaght AC

DSD Winners at the Juvenile Championships

The U9/U10/U11 Dublin Juvenile Team and Relay Championships will be held on Saturday 27th May at Tallaght AC Track from 1.30pm.

For this competition athletes compete in two events, as a team, with another athlete from their age group and can chose from the following:

U9's - Born 2015

· 60M

· 300M

· Long Jump

· Turbo Javelin

U10's - Born 2014

· 60M

· 500M

· Long Jump

· Turbo Javelin

U11's - Born 2013

· 60M

· 600M

· Long Jump

· Turbo Javelin

Athletes compete in their own age groups.

They can choose any two of the above events and Coaches will pair the athletes to make up the Team – every effort will be made to give athletes their preferred event.

They are then paired with another child in their own groups and they enter the competition together as a team. Coaches make the decision of each Paired Team and we thank you in advance for supporting them.

How does this work?

Their times/ jumps/ throws are totalled and their team result is this combined total.

The top 3 teams overall in the competition, from all clubs entered in each event go through to Nationals.

If you have not already advised us that your child would like to compete in this event - can you please send an email to dsdjuventries@gmail.com ASAP

Please include the following:

· Childs Name

· DOB

· The two events they are interested in if they know at this stage. If they are not sure we can work this out at training.

· If you would like to be considered for a relay team

As this is a team event please do not enter this competition if you are doubtful of being able to compete on Saturday May 27th.

Two athletes make up a team so if a child pulls out at late notice, this also means the other child can't compete.

This is a situation we want to avoid at all costs.

It is always a great fun day of competition for our younger juveniles, so we would encourage as many as possible to come and take part.

Any further questions please don't hesitate to contact me.

Yours in sport,

Sharon Wilson

Director of Athletics Operations
