A very impressive run by our U.18 girls 4x200m relay team, saw them win gold again in the Dublin Juvenile Even Age Relays. Led off to a very good start by Erika Doyle, Laura Gallagher took over the baton to increase the lead further, and with Hannah Murray 3rd and Cara Murphy 4th, also running very strong legs, there was no way they would be caught.
This was followed by another really good performance from our U.16 girls team of Georgia O’Keeffe, Molly Mullally, Natalia McCullagh Travers and Ellie Dunphy, who won Bronze.
Our U.16 boys were very unlucky in their race, not to win medals. Despite taking a very heavy fall on the first bend, and running the first leg, Eoghan jumped back up and raced after the other teams. A great second leg by Cal Traynor Russell brought us right back into the race, with Robert Hayes on 3rd leg holding his own in 2nd place and passing to Jamie Byrne, who had just come from winning his Leinster Schools Cross Country Championships. Jamie ran another brave race, but was just caught close to the finish by two strong sprinters, for a 4th place for the team.
Our younger relay teams also ran very well and enjoyed running on such a good track in Abbotstown Indoor Arena, with our U.10 boys just missing out on medals in the final.
