The Dunshaughlin 10k Road Race could be labelled as one of the best of it’s kind for organization and magnificent competition, as Hiko Tonosa and Mick Clohisey (Raheny) fought all the way from start to finish, with only a second gap between them at the finish line. Peter Somba (Dunboyne) featured in the early stages, but got burnt off after 7k, as the titantic battle continued up front. Olympian, Clohisey, who is known for his toughness forced the pace with Hiko at his side, and even went 5 metres up as they approached the last mile. Hiko’s acceleration over the last 300m was enough to see him home as he knocked 40 seconds off his last year’s win in a fantastic time of 29.29.
