In these trying times, it is nice to have wonderful news: our club stalwarts Liz & Eddie McDonagh are celebrating 50 Years of marriage these days. It was shortly after they married they started Dundrum AC and both of them are still at it all these years later. A shining example to us all, between them they must have coached hundreds if not thousands of national and international winners over the years. Competitive athletics owes them a huge round of applause. They are a lesson to all aspiring coaches of what can be achieved when you commit to your sport. I have very fond memories of Donal Hennigan, Stephen Judge & I as young teenagers all meeting at the squash courts in the DFRC on a Monday evening, to be given the training for the evening by Eddie in his Garda uniform. So if you’d all care to join me in raising a virtual glass to toast Eddie & Liz.
