A small team of 4 DSD Masters travelled to the Mary Peters track in Belfast on Saturday 25th June to compete in the Northern Ireland Masters Track and Field Championships and picked up 19 medals in total between them 12 of which were Gold. It was great to see Michael McGary back competing in M80 age group after a 2 year absence due to injury and what a comeback. He picked up right where he left off by cleaning up in the throwing events and… winning 4 Gold medals. Padear McGing continued his record breaking year by setting a new Irish age group record for the 100m hurdles. This is the fourth Irish age group record Padear has set so far this year and no doubt more to come. Shane Sheridan picked up the sprint treble of 100m, 200m and 400m despite only having a fifteen minute break after the 400m to recover for the 200m. Kevin Byrne won 5 medals in total including Bronze in the discus despite not having competed in this event for nearly three years.
