D.S.D Masters were out in force in Raheny on Sunday last, for the Dublin C.C. Championships. Brilliant performances from Peter Mathews M45; Cathryn Brady W50 and Maxine Jones W60, saw them take home gold.
Peter was his usual ebullient self and put it up to the younger age groups in the early stages as he led for most of the four lap race, only conceding in the final 800m.
Cathryn produced, probably her best cross-country run to date, as she had a terrific battle with Orla Gormley (Raheny), storming through at the end to seal victory.
Maxine Jones continues to dominate her age group at all distances and once again raced to success, this time over 3,000m.
In the team event we were just pipped by Raheny for the title, but finished in second place with Cathryn, Annette, Maxine and Pauline O’Brien.
Well done to all!
