Sinead Denny had a great run at the National Indoor Championships in the new world class facility in Abbotstown. Once again Phil Healy was the main opposition, as she and Sinead came clear on the last lap, with Sinead fighting all the way to the finish line to finish 2nd by the slim margin of 0.2 sec., but had the consolation of achieving the European Indoor Q.T., and has duly been selected to travel. Zak Curran has also been selected for the 800m and is adding to the D.S.D firepower for the season ahead. Congratulations also to Grace O’Rourke who added to her haul of medals at national level, finishing 3rd in the High Jump with a leap of 1.70. Other good results from Abbotstown: – Matt Bergin 4th 3,000m 8.25.55; Kate Doherty 6th 60mH 9.09 (PB); Mark Kavanagh 60m (finalist) 6.98; Katie Berney 60m finalist.
Well done to all!
