Well done to all our athletes who travelled to Athlone on Sunday for second round of the National Indoor League. Special thanks must go to our new track captains, Rachel and David, for the hard work involved in getting so many athletes involved in the League. Our women’s team finished in first place yesterday with the men 4th.
Kate Doherty won the hurdles in fine style clocking 8.38, with Molly Hourihan also winning her 400m in a time of 58.07. Kate was joined by Jennifer Hanrahan (4th 60m 7.66) Rachel Dunne and Katie Magee in the 4x200m, finishing 5th 1.45.18. In the Field Events Molly Mullally was 3rd Triple Jump 10.59; Claudia Moran 5th High Jump 1.40 and Vigetta Moran 4th Weight for Distance 4.42. David Bosch ran a fine 400m clocking 50.57. Ciarán Carthy, James Holden, Tobi Edward and Edward Carthy finished 4th in the Men’s 4x200m 1.33.31 and in the Guest 60m Ciarán Carthy was 7th in 7.00., with Edward Carthy clocking 7.42 in his heat, and placing 5th in the Weight for Distance 4.48. David Dagg cleared 1.75 (PB) in the High Jump for 2nd place and 7th place in the Triple Jump 11.73.
