Day One of the National Juvenile Championships on Sunday, saw D.S.D. A.C., get off to a great start, with a terrific win for Laura Gallagher in the U.17 100m hurdles, winning her heat in 15.47 and the final in 15.28. Cara Murphy ran a very good heat also, qualifying for the final with a time of 16.02, and finishing 7th in the final. Cian Dunne U.17, moved down to the 100m hurdles, finishing 3rd in 14.36. Eoghan Fitzmaurice, in his first All-Ireland competition, qualified for the final of the U.14 boys 75m hurdles, and finished 5th in 12.30. David Bosch was 8th in the U.16 Boys final in 15.03.
Oisín Kelly took gold in the U.19 3000m Steeplechase in 10.15.22.
Jamie Byrne ran a P.B. in the heat of the U.15 Boys 800m with a time of 2.12.41, but found the speed in the final a bit much, finishing 9th. He will now look forward to the 1500m next weekend. Killian O’Brien was 13th in the U.14 800m.
