DSD endurance Squad took to the streets of Edenderry yesterday for the penultimate event if the Peugeot race series – the Edenderry AC 10mile.
Going into this event the DSD endurance squad needed a 5th place or higher team finish to secure the Peugeot series with one race left.
Impressive performances from Sarah Mulligan (62.50) 2nd and Niamh Devlin (62.56) 3rd and on the mens side David Gormley(57.55) 7th and Aidan Murphy(57.56) 8th ensured that DSD won the team competition and therefore clinched the overall Peugeot Series.
· The team scoring was completed with Maria McCambridge (65.56) 8th, Clare Flanagan (77.58) 33rd, Lorraine O’Driscoll (77.58) 34th, Valerie Gorman (92.24) 88th
· And in the Mens race Ruben Bartelink (59.31) 13th, Adriele Prima Mello (59.49) 16th .
· Aidan Murphy won the Mens over 45 category with Ruben 3rd and Adriele won the Mens over 50’s.
· Maria McCambridge was 2nd in the Women over 45 category and Lorraine O’Driscoll 2nd in the over 50’s
The race series has been running since March ’23 and It took consistently strong performances from all of the clubs endurance athletes from Juniors to Masters to win the competition, demonstrating the strength in depth of the Club’s endurance group.
