U9/U10/U11 Dublin Team Competition & Relay Championships 2024Sunday 26th May 10.30am Tallaght Athletics Club Track Greenhills Road, Tallaght, D24 EP9R

Our coaches Aoife, Mark, Sarah-Louise and Toni have been busy organising athletes for the upcoming Teams Competition – it is always a fun day of competition for our younger juveniles and it is great to see so many athletes putting their names forward to take part.

For some it will be their first taste of competition and competing together as part of a team is a great introduction to this. We hope everyone is looking forward to and enjoys themselves on the day.

We have 78 Teams Pairs and 15 Relay Teams on the day – so as you can imagine this takes a considerable amount of organisation to coordinate!

Coaches will be confirming Pairs and Teams directly with parents - we would ask that you reconfirm your availability at your earliest convenience as this is a team event with two athletes making up each Team – if a child is not available, this also means the other child can’t compete.

Athletes should arrive at least one hour before their first event to allow time to:

-          check in with the DSD Official

-          and to allow sufficient time for warm-up

Notes:

  • Club singlets must be worn (singlets will NOT be on sale on the day)

  • Be prepared for all types of weather

  • Bring water/food as delays can happen

Please find the Schedule for Teams Championships attached.

VOLUNTEERS

Without volunteers and officials these competitions cannot take place – all Clubs are required to provide volunteers so please let us know if you are available. To ensure that our coaches can concentrate on their athletes we look to parents to help when required and your co-operation will be much appreciated. As always we endeavour to minimise time officiating by spreading the work among many – it is much appreciated if you could make yourself available if asked to help on the day.

Please contact me ASAP if you are able to volunteer as we need to give names prior to the Competition.

PARKING

Parking is available in the school yard - entrance on the right before the entrance gate to Tallaght Track and when full on Airton Road which is only a short walk from the venue.

Note that Gardai have advised that cars parked illegally on cycle and foot paths will be fined.

Please be advised, the timetable is subject to change without notice, events could be earlier or later than the scheduled time.

Please remember that all officials are volunteers and to respect their requests and direction during the Championships.

Please confirm ASAP:

1. Athlete availability

2. If you are available to volunteer

Wishing all of our athletes the very best of luck!

Yours in Sport
