DSD Events – Customer Service & Marketing Executive
DSD Events is owned by Dundrum South Dublin Athletic Club (DSDAC, dsdac.com), and organises mass participation athletics events, including the Women’s Mini Marathon (WMM). The WMM is an event which incorporates a 10km race through Dublin City Centre, along with pre and post event customer touch points. The WMM is the largest all-women event of its kind in the world and takes place every June Bank Holiday Sunday (Sunday 2nd June 2024).
Responsibilities
We are looking to recruit a dynamic and enthusiastic person to join our team to work on the 2024 WMM, handling customer service & marketing support for the event. Joining our busy team, the successful candidate will be required to among other things:
Use an equal proportion of the time to provide a strong customer service experience. While contributing to planning around the customer journey, the main customer service support is predominantly both electronic and over the phone. This may be more weighted to the later months closer to race day.
Support the marketing team on various promotional elements of the event campaign, including pre and post-event activities. Collaborate and support the team with:
Website updates via CMS platform and content development, requiring creativity and attention to detail
WMM email newsletters, including content gathering, liaising with sponsors, tracking management and scheduling. Supporting publishing the online race weekend magazine
Social Media support with planning and calendar management, post content, monitoring our social media platforms, assisting with customer competitions
Relationship management: working closely with charity & corporate industry and looking to bring the WMM to them as a ready-to-go platform to use as a fundraising tool for the charity or a way of encouraging fun and fitness wellbeing for staff of corporates.
Requirements
The candidate should have strong interpersonal & communication skills to be able to converse clearly & comfortably with customers and stakeholders alike. You should have strong knowledge of and passion for marketing and have good competency with MS Office. You should be enthusiastic and driven with a focus on attention to detail and preferably have an interest in athletics / fitness.
The position will require mainly working on-site in our offices in Sandyford, Dublin 18 with some off-site events.
The duration of the position is between the start of January 2024 until the end of June 2024. The salary offered for the role will be in line with National Minimum Wage regulations.
