It was a busy weekend for D.S.D. athletes with the Indoor League at the National Indoor Arena and the Masters Cross Country Races at St. Anne’s Raheny.
Kate Doherty started off the new season in great style with 1st 60m hurdles 8.44 and 1st Heat 2, 60m sprint 7.61. Also in great form was Jennifer Hanrahan who won the Long Jump with a leap of 5.64 and 3rd 60m final 7.71. Ciarán Carthy finished 7th 60m 7.02 (3rd Heat 2 7.11). David Dagg 4th Long Jump 6.39.
Others performing well: Padraig White 8th Shot 10.40; Jack McGlone 800m 2.01.40; Ronan Gately 60m 8.60; Pole Vault 2.40; Emma Roche Shot 7.60; Cara Murphy Pole Vault 1.30 3rd Group 1; 4x400m Relay (W) 2nd Heat 2; 4x400m (M) 4th; James Holden 200m & 400m; Laura Gallagher 200m; Isabelle Doyle 200m; Emma Goddard 800m; William Kinsella 1500m.
At the Masters Cross Country in Raheny, Maria McCambridge ran a fine race to finish 2nd, followed by Niamh Devlin 7th, and with Romaine King 46th, Cynthia O’Neill 51st the team placed 5th; Claire McGovern 95th.
F.Masters 50+ finished in 8th place; Annette Kehoe, Lorraine ODriscoll and Lynda Tuohy. Kevin O’Connor ran his usual strong race finishing 24th, and in the M65+ category Peadar McGing was 13th. M50+ team 8th: Kevin O’Connor; Stephen Judge; Tadhg Sullivan; David O’Leary.
