Update on DSD overseas

At NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon (8-11 June), Sean Roth was entered as the number 22 seed and took home a very impressive 16th place with a 5.30m vault. A shot at 5.40m, and a National record, was derailed by a calf cramp. Sean has a big couple of weeks ahead, moving back from Louisville to Germany after two years and competing in the German championships. All going well we will see him in DSD colours at the National League Final in Tullamore on 14 August. Rocco Zamman-Browne and Zak Curran were racing 800m at the British Milers Club (BMC) Grand Prix in Watford on 11 June. Rocco shook off some recent illness to take 5th in the A race in 1.47.86, just outside his PB. Zak was drawn in the B heat and also took 5th, taking nearly a second off his season's best with 1.48.23. We might see one more tune up race this weekend before the Nationals in Morton Stadium on 25-26 June. Finally, in a strong international field at the Folks Grand Prix in Sweden Hiko Tonosa fought his way to 2nd place in the 5000m with 13:42.74. We might see one more tune up race this weekend before the Nationals. The hay is in the barn. John Eves London
